The mentoring program at RMS is a partnership with Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County. Anyone interested in volunteering or mentoring in any area school must complete a Communities in Schools volunteer training. A background check is also part of the process to become a mentor.

From Communities in Schools:

"It only takes one person to make a difference in the life of a child. With help from hundreds of our volunteers, we've served hundreds of students who are now on a path to graduation. Whether mentoring, tutoring, chaperoning a field trip, sponsoring a job shadow day or college tour, or guest teaching business & life skills, you can change a child's life by volunteering to be a part of it."

We ask that our mentors visit their mentees at school at least 1 hour per week. The school counselor will work with you to arrange a time that works with both your schedule and the student's schedule.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor please contact Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County to register for an upcoming training date. Email: info@cisrome-floyd.org ; Phone: 706- 802- 5740
